The Study Streak Challenge! 💮

Yey!!! I managed to get a full month of reviews!! I was not able to do lessons everyday, some days were a bit harder than others so I couldn’t always spare the time to sit down and carefully study new words. But I am happy that I at least stayed on top of my reviews!!

I wish there was a way for us to see lessons streaks as well! Maybe that would motivate me to never miss lesson day hahaha!

April was also pretty solid Still going hard on new lessons and reading more often, which is great. I’ll probably release a Study Log here on the forums these following days :DD

What have you been reading?

Finals went great, a fourth semester with all A’s! Assuming the last grade I have coming in is an A anyways.

As far as Japanese studies itself goes, I’m whittling away at my Kitsun reviews, and I’m pretty close to back on track with Wanikani. I want to get more into Bunpro, but I just don’t really have the time even during the Summer RN. I just have too much I need to do on Kitsun.

It happens! Great job on getting every other day though, that can be a massive challenge! I managed to get in all 31 days, but there were plenty of days where it was looking like I wouldn’t.

Yay a full month It would be interesting to see how many of those are also lessons done on 10k, and how many, I’ve been prepping for JLPT for the past 2 weeks so the review count is getting up there

I’ve been doing around 16 lessons a day for the last… 2 weeks or so? Feeling pretty happy about it, because 14 of those lessons are words from exposure, which means I’ve been reading at a nice pace So I’m happy with that as well. Now, I just need to get done with reviews and lessons earlier in the morning, so that I can do grammar

Gonna use the streak thread to track my progress going forward. Ignore my ugly daily review number, I’ve got too many active decks. Hopefully more stats are forthcoming, such as daily cumulative review count (heat map) and number of known words/kanji within Kitsun…those would be some nice motivators.

Surely you must be thinking of something else?

In addition, it would be nice to have a way to look at the stats depending on category. Hard to tell how much of the cards in my total learned count are Japanese or not.

It’s been a busy month, but it’s went well

I’ve been taking a lot of statistics to learn what a reasonable pace is for Kitsun. I try to study 2 hours a day, and I seem to go at around a rate of 200 cards (words) per hour, so every day I’m going to try to review 400 cards for Japanese. Definitely going to focus on the latter though, since I kinda want that 2345 term count to go down.

Let’s hope I know more items/words than what I have reviewing

I’m starting to mark more words as ‘known’ without reviewing if already known, this just filters decks much better so I just jump into them…plus SRS stats mix kanji, grammar, expressions, sentences and vocab so there is that. I’d like to make Kitsun the hub for vocab/kanji tracking (then there is a forthcoming WK API)

BTW, thanks alot for the food deck, this should be the default version. While I appreciate the original, it’s completely unusable with a dark theme.

I’m not updating this thread so much but I’m diligently working every day through reviews. Even if I have so many of them now that I cannot finish them in one day

Ahhhh, now I understand. Yeah that would be useful, especially when the WK API comes out. Would be nice to know all of the words I know, other

what I learned in Quizlet anyways.
I need to start doing that myself, it will save time in a variety of sets if I don’t have to hibernate words in the middle of a lesson because I already know them.

No problem! I was really pumped about the deck content but was sad when it was just flip. I tried but the words don’t stick if I don’t try to type them in tbh.

Nice job!! My advice is just don’t worry too much about that review number too much and just focus on keeping that healthy pace.
