Iām excited to see all of the updates today. Yaaaay~
Great to see everyoneās progress!
According to my stats, I have added 803 items last month which ~26 items per day, no wonder I have so many reviews.
But it is a mixture of items, mostly new vocab & sentence decks but also extra grammar review and such (plus the new food deck ). But I prefer having spread out decks where if 100% already, I can review periodically and attack new decks, change up the content and whatnotā¦some Iāve been real lazy on. No way I can review everything all the time!
I feel that! I always want to do to as many lessons as possible, and splitting up those lessons between many different decks makes it so much more manageable. It really feels better when I have 300 reviews to do split up across 7 decks versus even just 100 in one.
I donāt blame you, sometimes itās nice to take a break from sets! I havenāt been feeling a deck or two myself.
Everyone is doing so well
Full month too!
Very few lessons/new items in comparison, as I only do new lessons when I feel like it. Quite rarely to be honest You can notice it in my number of beginner/novice cards from that month.
Reason is that Iām a bit busy and feel overwhelmed in time, (and brain I guess? )
Iām also trying my best at keeping WK as stable as possible, but I struggle so Iām not really learning that much items.
My motivation is still as high and I keep working the same amount of time as when I started. So thatās the most important even if that means learning less. I think
Thatās the strat! I was going to say, itās better that you have fewer beginner cards because youāre leaving yourself space for the higher level cards. I totally agree with what you said!
From what Iāve seen, I think youāre around for long enough to prove that you will succeed Youāre getting the consistency, which is very important. The other thing is goals. Anything youāre aiming for right now?
Itās fine to slow down around level 30. You know plenty of the most common kanji after all. As long as you donāt stop learning new things, itās all good
Thanks I hope to succeed too My goals are still pretty much the same as in the beginning, I would really like to understand Japanese so that I can understand the music I listen to, the anime and videos in Japanese that I watch, and especially to have as much fun as possible and be able to talk with people when I will be able to go to Japan.
Itās very cool to understand more and more words here and there, even if I still donāt get the global meaning of the sentences, it will eventually come with more study!
For now Iām still level 17 and focused on getting the first burns so thereās still quite a lot of kanjis that I donāt understand, I notice that especially when weāre going over examples with the Asao school teacher and when I try to read comments/live comments on videos/streams I have to grind again!
Ā
I hope everyone had a great month and hopefully nice holidays to end this last quarter of 2021.
Hereās my full month and also my first burns that I got this month
Hope everyone had a good month!
For me, a bit slower month compared to last, ~550 items added or ~18 items per day. But not surprised since most practice has been sentences & grammar. Number of decks on hold until I finish what I have now.
Itās that time againā¦Been enjoying the new app lately, itās a great experience and helps with reviews. Finished a few personal decks this month and a few bigger ones I canāt quite finish yet.
602 items added this month (lessons: ~20/day) so a bit better than last.
I just noticed that September ended This month Iāve been watching a lot of videos and trying to understand some bits while looking at a dictionary. I should try to figure how to make an exposure deck so that I would make more use of Kitsun!
Ā
600 items Good work!! ( and soon 600 days )
Wow time flew by so quickly xD I managed to find my screenshot from September and October has been nice to me too. I finally got 40% on 10k since I started lessons on it again to kill my pile of manual lessons (I have like ~200+ )
Trying to switch from Japanese to Portuguese has been a bit hard in terms of reviews, but I think itās all good now
I also hit 10k master recently
Iām back after an almost 5 month hiatus in my Korean studies (mainly because I was having my final school semester). I reseted my Korean vocab deck because I couldnāt remember half of it.
Now, Iām still struggling with consistency.
But keep ķķ
Nicely done @ellidaey! Glad to see you back
I updated the table after almost a month and going to share my progress as well /o/
Have been slow with Japanese and doing only 10 words a day on my Portuguese deck, currently struggling to find more words to study xD Going to probably do more 10k lessons if I have less than 400 reviews in a day. My Latin words are coming back now to be burned though uh oh
@ellidaey I hope your semester went fine As you resetted the deck and that you had already seen the words, it should be perfect to get back some consistency
@FlamySerpent 700 days studied, awesome! 400 reviews a day is quite a lot haha, I hope youāre only learning vocab at the moment
Ā
I hope everyone had a nice month
For a bit more than 2 weeks I did vocab from my exposure deck and Iām finally getting some learning consistency on Kitsun, not only reviews of old items.
With a pace of 10-20 items a day depending if I need to learn kanji or vocab on WK.
After hearing some words that come up frequently on streams or videos I add it in the deck, around 330 words so far, and 46% of progress. Iāll go back to 10K when Iāll reach 100% on it if I need more words to learn while adding to the exposure deck
Looks at all the streaks!
For me, slower month on adding new lessons (~15 a day) but still making progress
It went pretty well actually, and Iām happy with that.
The first 100 words I didnāt have issues to bring them back to my memory. Now after that, itās like learning from the start. But itās okay.
In my last week of October I got an existential crisis (and it was reflected in my study streak) but Iāve recovered already.
Iām aiming to get a full month strike like you soon.
If i may ask, how many cards you add a day in your ānormalā months? what are you learning? and how many decks do you use? Your numbers are high everywhere in the screenshot. Itās amazing
I hope I donāt disappear again
Your numbers are intimidating haha. How many Japanese cards you add every day? How many decks do you use?
And I think I remember you from a post I did long ago asking about other languages besides Japanese. My native language is Portuguese and itās always nice to see someone trying to learn itābe the Brazilian or the European version. Well, if you speak one, you can understand the other without issues. Boa sorte~~
I donāt do 800-1000 reviews a day if thatās what it seems I have a lot of small decks that allows me to custom pace however I wantā¦but gives ugly counts like that. But I like the freedom that allows to prioritize however I want
Since Iāve been tracking monthly average
Jul: 26
Aug: 18
Sept: 20
Oct: 14
Lately, minimally I will add 10 new vocabs and 5 new sentences daily from different decks Iām working on. This is a vocab/expressions mining deck which contains a mixture of new content or familiar words I want extra practice onā¦hard to make percentage progress since I keep adding new words but getting there! Once I level this out, will probably skip around on unknown words such as the N2 tango deck I just posted. The WK sentence deck has been a big help now that I can actually read them (though they were a bit useless while using the platform ). Then I have the lost levelss deck, almost done (last level!), itās been a slow burn and challenging deckā¦I think Iāll dig more into the Yojijukugo deck once since I didnāt want too much advanced content at the same time.
The other side is several grammar decks along with expressions and miscellaneous content such as food deck, dialect deck (tough), geography deck, keigo deck, idiom deckā¦variety keeps me entertained on the SRS grind! Alot of the grammar is a review of what I already know, so probably adds to those lesson counts (and inflates my numbers) but I like to crunch it before conversation practice, I find it helpful for output.
Iāve talked enough about myself, what is @ellidaey (or anyone else) currently working on using Kitsun??
Besides my daily WK sessions, I use Kitsun to learn Korean vocabulary (deck name: Korean Vocabulary by Evita - Typing) as it feels like a WK Korean-version (and the main I joined this platform), and I do some Japanese sentence mining (deck name: Sentences 6K). And outside these online platforms, I use Genki II and Assimil to learn Japanese grammar.
Which deck is this? Iām looking for more sentence mining decks
This interests me, but I need to focus on the Standard Japanese by now.
