I’m back after an almost 5 month hiatus in my Korean studies (mainly because I was having my final school semester). I reseted my Korean vocab deck because I couldn’t remember half of it.
Now, I’m still struggling with consistency.
But keep 화팅

I’m back after an almost 5 month hiatus in my Korean studies (mainly because I was having my final school semester). I reseted my Korean vocab deck because I couldn’t remember half of it.
Now, I’m still struggling with consistency.
Nicely done @ellidaey! Glad to see you back
I updated the table after almost a month and going to share my progress as well /o/
Have been slow with Japanese and doing only 10 words a day on my Portuguese deck, currently struggling to find more words to study xD Going to probably do more 10k lessons if I have less than 400 reviews in a day. My Latin words are coming back now to be burned though uh oh
@ellidaey I hope your semester went fine As you resetted the deck and that you had already seen the words, it should be perfect to get back some consistency
@FlamySerpent 700 days studied, awesome! 400 reviews a day is quite a lot haha, I hope you’re only learning vocab at the moment
I hope everyone had a nice month
For a bit more than 2 weeks I did vocab from my exposure deck and I’m finally getting some learning consistency on Kitsun, not only reviews of old items.
With a pace of 10-20 items a day depending if I need to learn kanji or vocab on WK.
After hearing some words that come up frequently on streams or videos I add it in the deck, around 330 words so far, and 46% of progress. I’ll go back to 10K when I’ll reach 100% on it if I need more words to learn while adding to the exposure deck
Looks at all the streaks!
For me, slower month on adding new lessons (~15 a day) but still making progress
It went pretty well actually, and I’m happy with that.
The first 100 words I didn’t have issues to bring them back to my memory. Now after that, it’s like learning from the start. But it’s okay.
In my last week of October I got an existential crisis (and it was reflected in my study streak) but I’ve recovered already.
I’m aiming to get a full month strike like you soon.
If i may ask, how many cards you add a day in your ‘normal’ months? what are you learning? and how many decks do you use? Your numbers are high everywhere in the screenshot. It’s amazing
I hope I don’t disappear again
Your numbers are intimidating haha. How many Japanese cards you add every day? How many decks do you use?
And I think I remember you from a post I did long ago asking about other languages besides Japanese. My native language is Portuguese and it’s always nice to see someone trying to learn it–be the Brazilian or the European version. Well, if you speak one, you can understand the other without issues. Boa sorte~~
I don’t do 800-1000 reviews a day if that’s what it seems I have a lot of small decks that allows me to custom pace however I want…but gives ugly counts like that. But I like the freedom that allows to prioritize however I want
Since I’ve been tracking monthly average
Jul: 26
Aug: 18
Sept: 20
Oct: 14
Lately, minimally I will add 10 new vocabs and 5 new sentences daily from different decks I’m working on. This is a vocab/expressions mining deck which contains a mixture of new content or familiar words I want extra practice on…hard to make percentage progress since I keep adding new words but getting there! Once I level this out, will probably skip around on unknown words such as the N2 tango deck I just posted. The WK sentence deck has been a big help now that I can actually read them (though they were a bit useless while using the platform ). Then I have the lost levelss deck, almost done (last level!), it’s been a slow burn and challenging deck…I think I’ll dig more into the Yojijukugo deck once since I didn’t want too much advanced content at the same time.
The other side is several grammar decks along with expressions and miscellaneous content such as food deck, dialect deck (tough), geography deck, keigo deck, idiom deck…variety keeps me entertained on the SRS grind! Alot of the grammar is a review of what I already know, so probably adds to those lesson counts (and inflates my numbers) but I like to crunch it before conversation practice, I find it helpful for output.
I’ve talked enough about myself, what is @ellidaey (or anyone else) currently working on using Kitsun??
Besides my daily WK sessions, I use Kitsun to learn Korean vocabulary (deck name: Korean Vocabulary by Evita - Typing) as it feels like a WK Korean-version (and the main I joined this platform), and I do some Japanese sentence mining (deck name: Sentences 6K). And outside these online platforms, I use Genki II and Assimil to learn Japanese grammar.
Which deck is this? I’m looking for more sentence mining decks
This interests me, but I need to focus on the Standard Japanese by now.
400 can be a bit daunting sometimes, yeah xD Now I tend to have more like 300 and something, that way I feel great. Doing 200 reviews in the morning and then 200 more in the evening is tiring a bit And yeah, I’ve finished the grammar studies so I’m freeeee
I just need the JLPT to be held here sometime in the future so that I can hopefully get N1 and actually be free xD
After seeing @s1212z numbers I can disagree I’m not really studying Japanese cards atm, even though I have 200+ words added to the front of the queue on 10k xD I need to get back to them, but even then I don’t do more than 6 lessons a day (3 word cards and 3 sentences for the same ones).
I kinda use just 10k, my Exposure deck for Japanese and my Portuguese deck where I add the words myself, but I do have a finished Katakana deck, 2 Idioms decks a Keigo deck, States and Prefectures decks and a Latin one xD
Muito obrigada~
Yeah, my focus right now is Portuguese
and after taking it more seriously in the past couple of months I can finally say that I have ~B1 and am comfortable with reading a lot of stuff
I just actually need to read more now xD
I’d post mine, but I don’t know if I can or not. But Hinekidori posted the apkg (with their permission) a while ago. The 10k sentence template in the CC fits like a glove! Auto generated audio too, but I don’t use it. These sentence were before an overhaul they did a few years ago, dare I say they are even a bit edgier than current content.
Amazing!
I forgot to post but did all days in Nov, average daily lesson count ~21 items per day so more than last month. Getting close to 666 days studied
Wow nice! So many lessons too, how are you managing
I can only make myself do like 10 a day, sometimes only 5 or none, or else it becomes like 400+ reviews in a day xD
I forgot to take a screenshot on the last day, but I hit 2 years on that day
I still have to catch up with 10k, but tbh I’m more interested in keeping my review count around 300
I’m drowning at the moment, lol…especially when work gets busy
I have 3 daily decks that I can clear daily and add lessons to. The rest are end of life decks 90-100% I work on 1-2 a week for higher SRS. So having a lot of smaller decks lets me micromanage however I want…but the SRS numbers look terrible. If this was all a single large deck, like the 10k, it would be a world of pain. Plus difficultly varies depending on content of the deck.
Approaching 11k Masters I see, amazing!
Daily lesson ave. ~17.5
皆さん,明けましておめでとうございます
Good luck with your 2022 study goals
I totally forgot about taking a screen for November as well
I’m happy that I still have my full streak on my SRS’, even if I don’t start new lessons everyday.
That was a really nice but busy year.
Now it’s time to move on, 2022 is about to start, and that will be my 2nd year learning japanese.
I hope everyone have a good 2022, (hopefully better than 2020-21 for an obvious reason ) and New Year’s eve
Awesome numbers!
明けましておめでとうございます
Nice work as well, full month!
Haven’t hit New Year quite yet in Europe or Americas, I probably should be saying 良いお年をお迎えください
~18.8/items added per day, so I guess I’m still on pace like last month around same average. Mostly are vocab mixed w/ kanji and sentences plus misc.
How is everyone else doing?
Gosh, still your numbers scare me
I did well in January, I read my first (more real) book in Japanese, かがみの孤城, so I had a lot of words to add xD I still have 128 after adding them all
I’ve been doing 10 daily lessons on exposure deck (the majority of the words aren’t even on 10k), but recently I switched to 15 because I want to at least get to less than 100 faster xD I prefer to have reviews under 400, or else it becomes a bit overwhelming for me
I also started writing essays in Japanese for my teacher on Asao /o/ That’s been really fun and I felt a lot of progress after just a couple of them, even though I still don’t have the confidence xD
Happy June! How’s everyone been doing lately? I recently hit 900 days studied and 12000 Master
My exposure deck has almost 1000 cards due to additional studying for Kanken (just for fun, and I’m only at 9級 now xD) and playing Okami in Japanese And I also finally found the Magic Master for Ni no Kuni in Japanese on the archive website so maybe I’ll play it to completion this time?
On my last save file I spent 19 hours where it would usually take about 6
Now I’m moving at a much faster pace and I’m very happy about it /o/ Not so fast with Okami though, roughly twice as slow, but I still enjoy it :3
I also watched 中田敦彦’s videos about 古事記 on youtube and I highly recommend it! It’s a short and fun series about Japan’s mythology and it has English subs for 3 videos out of 4, the last one having Japanese ones, so if anything they can be translated too
431 days in a row as of today and now past 800 days using Kitsun
Let’s see on milestones…I’m 690 on the kanji writing deck, my goals would be to finish N2 kanji by end of summer. I wish I had done this sooner, it’s been a helpful exercise thus far. Also just 17% on the WK sentence deck, been going a bit slower but still find it beneficial to break collocation dependency. Also grinding the Grammar deck on all the layouts, finally feel like I’m making some grammar progress and improve listening. For vocab, I finished the N2 Tango and mostly been working my own exposure deck plus the slang deck which has been fun…sort of want to improve the above before getting too deep on another vocab pile ATM.
