Hi, I’m trying to display Tags on a card but nothing seems to work. In Anki, if I remember correctly, you just have to add the field name {{Tags}} but here it just shows literally the text “{{Tags}}” on the card. I’m pretty sure that I am doing something wrong. Could any want please help me? Many thanks!
Tags are not supported as templating syntax at the moment, although it wouldn’t be difficult to implement this functionality
I personally use tags exclusively for managing and categorizing cards, but I can definitely imagine other use cases.
Shall I put it on the list for you?
If it’s not much work, it would be nice. The use case is the following:
I am working my way through My neighbour Totoro on Netflix using the LLN extension for Chrome. I would read the subtitle until I can understand it and then I would add all the words that I don’t know to a custom deck. I am adding the tag Totoro in case I would like to organize them somehow else in the future and to be able to count the total number of words that I learned through the movie when I reach the end. Then I will probably start with another movie or show and do the same while in parallel I will keep adding words that I find in the wild and are not part of the 10k. I could also add an additional field and input the tag twice, once in the proper tag field and then again on the additional one, but it’s just one more step that I’d like to avoid for the sake of efficiency. Then again, if this is too much work and/or I am going to be the only one using it, just forget it. It seems like you already have enough on your plate.
Edit: I just realised that what I described was the reason why I was adding Tags but not the reason why I wanted them to be shown in the back of the card. Silly me! It is just to provide additional context, without having to write them again in the notes or an additional field.
No worries, I’ll add it to the list
I’m a little bit occupied with creating the mobile apps lately, but will try to squeeze it in along with some bugfixes whenever possible
